"Oral health is not just about teeth — it is the foundation of systemic wellness for every animal we treat."
— Dr. Brook A. Niemiec

A lifetime dedicated to specialized excellence.

Dr. Niemiec's journey began with a profound interest in the often-overlooked complexities of animal oral health. After earning his DVM from the University of California, Davis in 1994, he recognized that veterinary dentistry required a more rigorous, evidence-based approach to match human dental standards.

He went on to achieve dual board certification, becoming a Diplomate of both the American and European Veterinary Dental Colleges — a rare achievement that underscores his commitment to global medical excellence. In 2000 he was also elected Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry.

Today, Dr. Niemiec is not only a practitioner but a primary architect of veterinary dental education. He founded the San Diego Veterinary Dental Training Center, authored over 15 textbooks, and has lectured in more than 40 countries — shaping how an entire generation of veterinarians practices dentistry.
